Intro
We partnered with the Hollywoodbets Durban July to bring the 2025 theme, Marvels of Mzansi, to life—Africa’s greatest horse racing and social event reimagined through a bold, pride-inspiring creative lens that celebrated the pulse of the nation.
Context
We conceived and led the creative direction for the theme, anchored by the central concept Feel the Pulse of the Nation, which became the foundation for all visual and experiential elements. From this idea, we designed the official theme logo, developed four original, never-seen-before patterns, and generated lifelike AI models to express the diversity, energy, and spirit of South Africa. The rollout became the most successful theme interpretation in the event’s history, widely adopted by fashion designers, sponsors, and partner brands. The concept resonated deeply with South Africans, inspiring national pride and emotional connection across the event.

We created a culturally rich theme experience rooted in pride, energy, and national identity, translating a powerful central idea into a cohesive visual system embraced across the entire event.
THE VIDEO CONTENT
We produced a high-energy aftermovie capturing the scale, emotion, and cultural impact of the event, supported by real-time social media management and viral short-form content. The social-first video strategy drove organic reach of 7.5 million on TikTok, extending the experience far beyond race day.
SCALABLE DESIGN SYSTEM
The visual system was built for flexibility, integrating seamlessly across platforms like the Hollywoodbets Durban July app and website, and easily adopted by both creative and technical teams.
